Would the stainless and anodised aluminium bling go the same way? james2cv wrote: First thing I'd do would be bin off the chrome.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
spanners, on this same topic, how about the adjustable clip or band which prevents the headlamp adjustment rod from rattling against the heat exchangers, or the plastic hoops which prevent the seatbelts being trapped in the front door locks ? Both of those are often absent on 'restored' cars nowadays. ken spanners wrote: Hmmmmm, nearlly all these really expensive 2CVs on Ebay seem to be missing their dump tubes. Why? It's not like they really form a particularly expensive part of a "high" quality (ahem) restoration!

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
I'm really tempted to ask "do you like chrome?" or "have you seen that 1948 dry stored for 63 years car on that french classics website, as surly this is THE BEST 2CV ON THE NET? it doesn't have as much chrome as yours though :/"

The gutter trim doesn't go all the way down the A post. Completely ruins it for me I won't be bidding

You devil. Now you've got me wondering if there's any rain gutter forward of the A post. ken knightley wrote: The gutter trim doesn't go all the way down the A post. Completely ruins it for me I won't be bidding

knightley wrote: The gutter trim doesn't go all the way down the A post. Completely ruins it for me I won't be bidding Well spotted. Also, the window clips are in the wrong doors (okay, so you could swap them around) the shell has been painted once it was bolted to the chassis which makes me wonder if there's any kind of protection underneath all the bolts (I always fill the outriggers with waxoyl or similar too just to be on the safe side-nothing in those) and it looks in the photo of the floors as though the paint is cracked and there's rust starteing to make a comeback...... Also, it could be an optical illusion but, there look to be a strange ripple by the N/S bottom corner of the windscreen and a dent (poor filler repair?) by the N/S/R 1/4 window. And then there's that lovely bit of wiring across the bulkhead covered in manky insulation tape-looks delightful!
