That's a recipe for a knackered coil, surely.

Does anyone know anything about 12v eletric timers?
I'm after a timer switch to operate at set times for a set time,
It is for my 12v 600w inverter. So needs to be up to the job

Or a small one with big relay..??
Ive looked around and don't really understand it
I don't want to leave my inverter running 24/7 as I geuss that's not good for it and it will flatten battery

Oh Its a skytronic 600w (decent brand)

I'll answer this on the grounds that for once I can understand what you're talking about, well done!

I don't know anything about 12v timers but the most readily available timers are probably the ones that plug into a 13amp socket Image
They also come in digital, and I'm sure they could be cannibalised for many applications. They're designed for at least 13amps, not sure what your inverter draws could be 50amps (600w/12v = 50amps, but checking the spec is your job) so you could still need a relay. What are you planning on running off it? A 50amp drain will still flatten your battery in under an hour.

What's the general current concensus on Mazda mx5s? Are they still, as they always were, a hairdressers car that really made a bold statement about a man if he drove one, or are they past that now? It's just about the only rwd car you can buy nowadays for under £500. In fact they are ridiculously cheap at the moment and I though maybe once my 2cv has sold and I have a spare space in the barn I might pick one up for a bit of fun. But I don't want to if bigger boys will laugh at me.
