While I sympathise with the chap, and dislike people who nick stuff very much indeed, I'd have been over the moon if someone had stolen my girlfriend's AX. Horrible thing, I've never driven a worse car.

I love AXs, loads of fun, pedals are too close though.

Classic car meeting/show thing in the car park of Hartlepool Histroic Quay. The article makes it sound like it's only been around for a year but the event itself i've been going to for a while. Always a decent turn out of plenty of different sorts of cars, never seen any A Series there though. :(

Fairly decent way to spend a few hours if anyone is in the area. Also, I never see any A series up in this area, hint hint.

It's 10-4 this Sunday, turnout always depends on weather. Every time I've been it's been sunny but if the weather stays like this, I can't see much of a turnout.

Have you thought of coming along to the 'Cleveland Canardly's' 2CV club? I'll forward meeting details if you're interested.

There is another 2CV in H'pool (if thats where you are), a Beachcomber, but there are not that many of us in Teesside . . .

Just spent some time reading through that buyers guide. Well done guys, definately one of the most thorough ones I've seen anywhere, let alone on the net!

Joanna Lumley is looking a bit rough these days isn't she? I reckon I still would though.

I notice this bit:

Sex for up to six hours? Normally I'm lucky to get to six minutes before I roll over with a smug look on my face and fall soundly asleep.

In idle conversation a few weeks ago my boss mentioned that there was an abandoned ww2 tank 'somewhere on the downs'. I googled it a bit and found it just up the road from work.

Sam and I went to have a look this evening.

That bolt is 3" across. The holes are from PIET anti tank weapons, it was used as target practice by the Canadians after it broke down and was deemed not worth repairing.

While most of it is riveted together there was some primitive looking stickwelding still visible.

This plate is 3" thick, and has been gas cut. That's pretty impressive.

This (what looked like) Phosphor bronze ring gear was still mostly there where the turret should have been.

Rubber parts, still reasonably good after 70 years.

2cv Driveshaft?

Engine long gone.

This is what it used to look like:

And a bit more about it and what it's doing there.
