I've had 28 of the wanky little things, back in the day when I thought they were the bollocks, but they just aren't. I thought I'd enjoy caning my mates on recently but it's just a bouncy, pokey little roller skate. And it broke going over a speed bump.

But Paddy Hopkirk owns a 2CV (a green and white un).

He always drove big mercs when he was rallying minis.

In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T.

my first car was a mini clubman - it had more cab space than my dads cortina mk 4 or5 the very square one. I broke the crank and stuffed it into many a wall and ditch it ended up with a 15k engine in it from my mates new mini which went under an artic trailer ( before they had side rails) and thus started a line of absolute hingin rats with bloody fast engines, the 2cv is the only car that has kept me from loosing my licence or life.

Or maybe your life! :o

Mini might be ok at rallying, but how much cooler is this?

Very cool, although its '66 monte win has always been argued it's still a sweet and unlikely rally car.

Here I have to admit to being a banger racer 30 odd years ago - (waits for incoming. :o )

I liked Rover 3 litres because they were big and heavy and would last a full season. Then along came a lad who worked at the local Citroen dealers with a DS. Unbelievable car in the rough and wet, none of us could get near it including Jags, Westminsters, Humbers and Zephyrs. And it also lasted a full season.

I'm currently busy clearing up my garage in preperation for pastures new and, I found a 2CV engine in there that I didn't know I had!

Although, those of you that have seen the shit hole that is my garage probably aren't too surprised!
