2cvs and artics are not that different in the way they slow down and require a gear change on long motorway hills. Nor indeed in the way they hammer down hills at massive speeds if you let them go. 8-)

I'm typing this in the office at work. The truly dismal Heart FM is on in the background, playing Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer". Can anyone tell me why this is still allowed on the radio 25 years after it was written? It was no fucking good in 1986 and it hasn't improved with age. And that goes for anything by Sting or Bryan Adams, too.

Well, music is either good or bad depending on the individual opinion of the listener, but if you're not listening to a BBC radio station there must be something wrong with you. Commercial radio is chewing gum for the ears.

Radio 4 extra on DAB is for me. Before moving down here I was a session musician for a living (yes seriously!!) in London....all music now drives me bonkers!

But stupid classic comedy on Radio 4 is funnier now than I thought it was at the time...I am even enjoying the Goon Show when I was hard core Monty Python !

Indeed yes. I wouldn't have commercial radio on in the truck where I actually work, it's radio 4 or the ipod in there.

That's interesting ... I'm by no means a professional musician, but I gig fairly regularly. I find it very hard to enjopy live music, since a lot of the time at other people's gigs is spent thinking "well, he's not doing anything clever. That's just a bit of pentatonic minor noodling, we can all do that."

there is a phrase you don't come across every day. Tried it in Wiki but no definition. Found plenty of examples on YouTube so get the drift now. I wish I could pentatonic minor noodle
