Post Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
Today was Sunday so, like Craig David, my A-series chilled.

However, yesterday I took it to the paint shop and filled up the super-large sized CO2 cylinder that Spanners has kindly lent me, ready for the gorilla-welding job that I'll be do on the van during my first window of opportunity - which could any time between now and next summer. Also stocked up on Meije Blanc 2-pack for Snowy's new rear wings and doors, and invested in a sensible breathing mask. I'd forgotten how expensive paint is, so when I saw the bill I suffered a sharp attack of shopper's remorse. Feeling poor, I took the kids to a fete that had free entry and blagged a pint of cider off a mate!

I like Symmonds Yat, the first time I canoed down it I was 8, I had a pack of Jelly Babies on my spray deck and they got soaked

We went canoeing today. We've lived in the Wye Valley for five years now and today was the first time we've managed to get onto the river. And that was only because some friends of friends were camping here and invited us along. Tremendous fun, even without wet Jelly Babies. :)

I took the van to Stratford as planned.

Had many positive comments and quite a few sneers as well.

Once again, unbelievably, NO ISSUES!!

Not done a great deal so far today, I've been concentrating my efforts on having the aircon on the C4 looked at. I will, however, be using it for WASPs this evening. :)

Yesterday,I put my 2CV into a Classic Car show at Wentworth Park [near Rotherham]
Image
My 2CV was the only one in the show [out of about 200 cars] .....got a few comments from people who had owned "A" series cars in the past.
Part of the fun [for me] about such shows is standing near my car,and listening to some of the b*ll*x some of the punters talk about my car.
The only other Citroens present were a tasty looking GS and a nice CX

And this.....the owner seemed a little surprised when I asked him "How does it compare to a real 2CV" :o

I've had the ww2 BMW bike engine codshit spouted at me too. Amazing how these pillocks who have never even owned one (but their aunties gardeners wife did back in the 70s) know more than you do.

Apparently, the French used them as tanks in the war  Well, at least we now understand why the Nazis were able to overrun France so easily
