Re: Cool 2cv Pictures 8 I love the way the place has totally changed  I have seen photos of our village from similar period and it could be taken today. Places in Uk would be covered with concrete in same period.

Re: Cool 2cv Pictures 8 That's the beauty of living in France, we had to apply to the Architects of France in Paris via our Marie to have the roof replaced,as anything within a 500 metre radius of the 12th century church has to abide by very strict rules. I love it as it protects the style of the buildings and heritage,so no complaints from me,well only one it took 12 months to get it sorted,including permission to close a lane due to scaffolding !

Re: Cool 2cv Pictures 8 Thing is tho...paintwork is still the same I bet from the original! Its the one thing that lets down rural France is the lack of care they have for the buildings in their towns when it comes to painting the woodwork....having travelled there for over 30 years now, yes, it all looks very quaint when its bright sun but boy does it become depressing when its grey in the middle of winter.....
