When it is original, like 2cv´s from 50´s are, it is ok.
When it is done, rust i mean, no for me.

same. It's got to have earned it's patina, it's not something you can recreate.

That beetle up there is just... silly. :? (but then I wouldn't describe it as rat-look)

And Geoff, one word I wouldn't use to describe your van in that pic is 'used'! Dusty maybe?

What counts as rat look?

where do you draw the distinction between just ratty and rat look?

I mean Will will attest to how my old red special was a ratter but was it rat look? Or most of you know my old P reg drummer ex-spanners, is that rat look? or is it just a mess?

Id like to know, cos i may go proper rat on the P plate drummer if its almost there.

different people, different ideas! there are now sub genres like 'euro rat' & the like. TBH i don't think you can make a car look 'rat' it just evolves. Your drummer just needs preserving as it is, outwardly. Obviously it needs a fair whack of metal work, but i'd be tempted to make it solid, or as solid as possible & leave the body as far as is possible the way it is. That car is so late 80's early 90's it hurts! You just don't see them like that anymore & to my mind that's a real shame. 8-)
