I want the song if anybody knows it.
Citroen finally rightfully proud of their heritage. Nicely put together with some great clips, it's ironic that at long last Citroën recognises its great past. Ironic that whilst it is turning out (perfectly good) humdrum clones with MacPherson strut suspension and god-fearing engines, VW owns and helps make the Bugatti Veyron, Bentleys, Lamborghinis and Audis with a variety of ingenious engine layouts and some suspension subtleties. Citroën today is rightfully proud of what the company once was, but trying to suggest that its current thinking bears any resemblance to what existed up to the Peugeot take-over is pie in the sky. It has reverted to the type of car it made pre-Traction Avant - simple, reliable and good to drive. Interesting that the 2CV is featured so heavily (yet using 2CV cross footage instead of early 70s raids -why?) yet the Traction Avant is completely ignored. The type of forward-thinking which brought about cars described as "the most modern - ever" and “the most intelligent application of minimalism ever to succeed as a car” which still stun anyone with an appreciation of intelligence, is long gone.

 Re: 2CVs on TV
Apologies that this is going off topic, but take a look at this official 90yrs of Citroen website, some really boring stuff there (Ax,Zx,Visa van), but no mention or sign of the 2cv http://www.citroen.co.uk/microsite/90-years/WHY?????

 Re: 2CVs on TV
My car was on TV once, it was a police car's TV screen, recorded footage of me on the A34 at 86mph. Was let off, once they'd checked tyres and tax disc. Oops.

 Re: 2CVs on TV
Our 2CV was shortlisted for the new series of the F word. They wanted a bright, smart car for filming. In the end they have changed the location to Yorks. and have found a more local car. I think filming was the bank holiday weekend. Given that the owner of the car is vegetarian and neither of us likes G Ramsey we were only going to do it for the money!

 Re: 2CVs on TV
I was in Paris the other day, and I popped into the Champs Elysees marketing thingy. Must say the cactus is a very cool concept - has some of the design fundamentals of the 2cv - eco, minimal componentry, individual design, etc. However, having scrutinised the place I could only find a Traction as a tiny Matchbox model on a big display, and no mention of the 2cv. When I asked a very friendly and genuinely nice Citroen guy he said "there's probably one in the gift shop". Wasn't too happy, though he was truly embarrassed for the marque (especially when I started going on about the snail's virtues)...

 Re: 2CVs on TV
The cars in C42 are always changing. There was quite a bit of 2cv stuff when I was there last year (and Citroen had that 60 years of the 2cv exhibition on at the Paris science museum all last summer as well of course).
