Pyrenean - Solex 3800

I bought this little beauty today after seeing it on the French E Bay and Le Bon Coin. It is a little mixed up with parts but the engine number is 4574991 which puts it as a 1969 and a 3800.
Need to fix the lights. The wires are broken and the inside of the 3300 light unit is a mess. Rear light also not working but due to the broken wire.
Goes a lot faster than I was expecting - very pleased and knocked the guy down to €250 which I thought was a bit of a bargain :D

Would be interested in what documents you needed. I have the generic certificate of conformity. Engine number etc. and i can put together a receipt if required but i didn't get any transfer papers like you do when buying a car.

Also would be interested in a contact for the insurance you mentioned before

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian.

What I did was get the old owner to fill in normal sale document (as per car). To prove the date of sale etc. Fill in all parts that need filling and get him just to sign. Because my guy was far away from me I downloaded document from net and sent it to him with postage paid return envelope.
Take photo of the engine number.
Take document from net showing all the engine numbers and dates and high light your batch to prove correct age. They will look at photo and document and its easy for them.
Take generic cetificate of conformity

Then just same as car - utility billa nd proof of identity.
Nice thing no fee to pay

You can then buy number plates form link I sent you on your car blog

Insurance link - I have all my vehicles with these - not just legende and find them good and cheaper than high street brookers

I have seen a few references to Controle Technique for the Solex but it is not required just at the moment.... or is it???

All the other forms are ready to go.

No C.T. for bikes - Government was trying to introduce it but not yet.. Same as usual over here - the breath test thing has all but collapsed after many of us have bought them.

Those insurance rates from AMV are fantastic. I currently am paying around €330 for my AZU with my current insurer (Generali) whom I have my two minibuses, trailers and mini insured with.
I asked them if I would get a reduction on the AZU due to it being a on a Carte Gris de Collection. They came back with a €10 INCREASE as the low mileage option was not available under the collectors policy

The AMV quote is €132 for the same cover (all risk plus assistance and windscreen) - Think I might be moving my AZU to them on Monday.

The Solex comes in at €36.
:D

Just tried to put my son's mini 1000 through their system but there seems to be a minimum age so we will have to stick with what we have with Generali

Cheers for the info

Glad I could help. With AMV Legende you can do both 2cv and Solex on same policy. I pay 152.70 for both.
