Today I discovered that there is more than one size of pulley on the fan; and that some of the white plastic fans are bigger than others...
After arranging some of the old tat in the garage into the shape of an M28 I found I couldn't get the generator belt on, it were too short?! Compared with a black plastic fan the pulley was a good inch bigger diameter, as was the fan. Another white fan was same size as the black one.
I think the big pulley & fan combo are from an Ami with a dynamo...?

Pulley & fan for an M4 engine.
Stand back and brace yourself for the stampede of folk willing to take it off your hands...

Thanks Ken :D
Best put it on the M4 engine then, that's possibly maybe going in the AZAM... Though as I'm planning to put an alternator rather than a dynamo on that won't the gearing be too high? Too many voles rushing up the wires and making the regulator all hot & bothered?

I don't believe in electricity, I can't see it - unless it is angry & making sparks

No problem with a slightly larger drive pulley, in fact Citroen did the same thing with the last 602 engines and their 'metalastic' hubs.

Went for a drive in it for the first time in yonks - sounds louder since Steve had been driving it, especially when accelerating under load up a hill - when got back had a poke around and it looks like the airbox cover has worked loose despite a screw in it - the little tabs that lock the cover in are broken and it blows off without any screws - so fitted one opposite the original screw and now nice and quiet again. Also took time to give it a bit of a pre MOT once over - greased Kingpins and driveshafts, finally got around to adjusted the steering lockouts on the front arms so that the tyres stopped rubbing against them on full lock - and re-timed it for good measure.

Maybe get hold of some 6mm studding/threaded rod and convert that plastic housing into an old style metal one, since that bodge with self-tappers never lasts long. ;)

Post Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
So I brought the 2CV south in September for the MOT and to winter in a more gentle climate. It was SORNed from 1 Oct. and was probably going to remain so till April. Unfortunately, when I was down in Worcester in September my father was taken ill and ended up being admitted to hospital where he sadly passed away. My mother hasn't taken it too well, so I've decided to return to Worcester over the winter so as to help relieve the strain on my bro and sis. So today I decided to re-tax the 2CV and get it out on the road. I've returned from the local (WASPs) meeting about an hour ago, and the 2CV did me proud. I'd forgotten just how much I love driving it. :D
