AK wouldn't start?

Not for the first time after it's been left idle for a week.

Swapped the coil for one of those new tangles yellow Ecas jobbies and now it starts just as easily as the Acad.

The black coil was brand new too.

Checked your plug gaps?
Maybe points gap as well, if it's still using them...

All very well hitting it with a bigger stick, but it's always handy to know why that was needed in the first instance.

Took it for its MOT. It passed, yay. It has done for years now without any advisories. Although last year he did say the king pins will need doing soon.

Obviously beforehand I always grease the king pins, this time I did it yesterday and noticed a split on a rubber gaiter. I bet that was me with the wing catching it when I take it off or something. Anyway I checked online and found this would be a fail so I fixed it a bit with a self adhesive cycle puncture repair patch, then duct tape all the way round. Then covered the gaiter in black grease. You couldn't tell it was there!
Obviously I'll sort it out properly asap.

Also noticed the washer jet was blocked. It was one of those plastic ones but I recently found the nicer original chrome one in my shed so I popped that one back on :-)

After MOT I fixed the heater cable with a new one so I can actually switch the heater fully off now! Very nice smooth feel to it now.
Fixed the bass tube too as it was rolling around in the boot and the back seat had come down on the fuse holder. New fuse holder and mounting screws and then popped on some very rude dance hall reggae. Oh yesh :-)

After one and a half year I decided that ... I don't have time for restoring my own car. So I will just clean poor bastard, repair some bits and put it back on the road until I become rich and have some employee to work for me... Than I will have time for my own car... yeah... right...

And... I miss driving Dak...

So this winter I will have fun :D

MOT today, following an afternoon 'making good' yesterday.....and a pass with same advisories as last year! Best get them sorted for next time, methinks.

Well ok, I just filled the boot and the passenger wells with bricks. And plants and wheels/tyres :)

Still the most practical machine I've ever owned, I could never sell it.
