They do that because you're driving too slowly.

I always aim to be going faster than everyone else; it halves the risks of accidents. No one can or will hit you, all you have to worry about is what is in front of you.

but theres a line between driving too slowly and driving at a sensible speed such as 65-70...

however i did drive to eastbourne mostly at 50 simply because i knew if i had the heavy right shoe on that day id rape my fuel budget

from my point of view, the majority of folk who behave like you've described are just bad drivers.

On the trip from where I live into town, they'll crowd you all the way through the 40 limit because that's nice and straight, drop out of sight on the twisty bits, catch up with you on the next straight bit, then drop out of sight again at the two roundabouts because they haven't set themselves up in the correct gear to take them smoothly.

They either cannot or will not read the road and the traffic which is ahead of them, simple as that.

had a friend follow in a porshe a few years ago he was all over the bumper on the strait but as soon as we got to twisty stuff i left him - he couldnd believe that 602 beat his in the twistys....same at snet "testing" the racer during open track

A 2 2cv will teach you how to be a better driver you will learn how to read the road and the other drivers and how to maintain momentum by smooth driving.

and as for speed being safer ....bolloks! when has "lack of speed" ever been put down on an accident sheet

drive at the speed you are happy with and you wont be another teenage stat.

There's no more fun to be had than leaving someone in your dust on a series of bends. Especially if they'd obviously be faster than you if they could only drive.

Today is a good day. I have finished my dissertation and printed it off. Now i just need to get it bound, it has been the bane of my life for the last 9 months, and not its just a stack of paper... but its over!

My mac wont let me screenshot, but Im watching Cocorico Monsieur Poulet again, its such a good film.
