I've no experience of them, but I've heard the name before, there are quite a few chinese manufacturers sprung up recently. I would expect the build quality to be on a par with most other chinese bikes(and indeed everything else), so keep your eyes open for bits trying to fall off. Luke had a chinese 125 (sukida?), I don't think he was greatly impressed with it, we'll see what he says.

Sorry, don't mean to sound too negative, they're still a massive grin, just remember there's a reason they're half the price of a Jap equivalent.

I just checked the reg to see how old it was, 11 :? Is that what new stuff's got on it these days?

Yeah it's a new 11 reg! next it goes to 61 then 12 then 62 then 13 then 63........ i'll stop there :)

Sounds about right what you say, get what you pay for but if i look after it should be fine. just need a little more power it's really good up to 50 mph then the power just dies off.
Tuning needed

Post Re: The O/T thread!
I just fitted these to my Avion(picture's off my mobile phone - will post a decent one tomorrow).

They're different to most Brooklands Aero Screens as they sit on a cast ally cowl rather than the usual pot metal posts. They are meant for some sort of pre-war MG but fit my car nicely. Think I need to move the mirrors forward and down to make them look right.

I now need to sort out all the holes in the scuttle left by the previous windscreen.

I bought the last one that will be available for some months while the Lomaxers were over on the CSC web site dithering about whether to let the moths out of their wallets (they were £189 for the pair) and crying that the guy who makes them wouldn't sell just the cowl to fit to the screens they already had - boo hoo ;)

I had a Sukida. Looks like it was almost identical to that except it had a disc brake on the back. They're OK if you don't expect too much. The engine on mine seemed to be pretty much unburstable and performed very well. It will go better if you remove all the lean-burn stuff. I never got around to it on mine, I just rode around everywhere with the dfchoke pulled out a couple of mm!

The frame and cycle parts were a bit of another matter, but if you're prepared to replace lots of stuff early on and keep on top of maintenence, it should be OK.

By the time I took stopped using it at 2 years/6000 miles:
-3 engine-frame studs had snapped
-all the wheel bearings were shot
-the chain had snapped and shattered the engine sprocket cover
-the sprockets and cush drives were all worn out
-the headlamp had fallen off!
-all the chrome on the fork legs had gone rusty
-the exhaust had rotted

If I were you I'd cover the fork stanchions in some thick grease, and probably fit gaiters of some sort. I'd replace the chain and sprocket with Japanese items fairly early on. If/when an engine bolt breaks, replace the lot with proper high-tensile ones. Basically try not to put any chinese parts back on it!

Some of them have a kill-switch wired into the side stand, which is prone to giving trouble, but can easily be disconnected. The petrol cap let water in on mine, so whenever I ran out of petrol (the reserve on the tank was rubbish), I had to drain the carb float bowl.

If I wanted a 125 again, I would probably buy the nicest Jap bike I could afford, but in all fairness, you've got a lot of bike for your money, and I could easily have written a post like this about a 2CV! Mine handled fairly well, and would sit quite happily for hours at 65. Like you, I bought it to get me around when I broke my 2CV, and it did that admirably.

Nice one, thanks Luke ;)

I do have rear disc brakes, so does that mean it's like yours? Whats the lean burn stuff? Will that give me more power?

I've done 500kms this week and i'm loving it!

I *thought* there was something on there which is supposed to feed a proportion of the exhaust gases back into the engine, which can make it run quite lean. I haven't been able to find any reference to that on the internet though. There are a few forums suggesting changes you can make to the carburettor setup if it becomes an issue.

I'm looking on my phone so couldn't see the rear brake very clearly! It's probably very similar then. I think all the ones I have seen have used the same frame and forks etc. I reckoned mine looked much better after I'd stripped all the plastic off it ;)
