Old-Nail, you saved me the hassle of showing examples of what £1k could buy as an alternative to the 2CV. I was planning to do this, but expecting it to show the opposite result... Good job I didn't bother !

Fair point, but imagine how much these other cars will be worth a few further years down the line? (Unless they become 'classics' too...)

No mate. It's that simple.

I know there's lots of boring stuff out there, and I know that 2cv's are fun, but like I said given £150 quid I'd know which one was best, but when given £1000 the decision would be different. It's not difficult, it's just that there's so much out there at the moment due to the bankers that you'd be absolutely daft to pay a grand for a rusty old 2cv.

People are doing it, and that's up to them, it then becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. But all I say is good luck to them - and give me the Lexus.

A man approaching his fiftieth birthday decides to have a facelift. He spends £5,000 on the
operation and is very happy with the results. On his way home from surgery, he stops at a kiosk and buys some cigarettes. Before leaving, he says to the vendor, “I hope you don’t mind me asking, but how old do you think I am?”

“About thirty-five,” is the reply.

“I’m actually forty-nine,” the man replies smugly, feeling really good about himself.
After that he goes into a Starbucks for a coffee and asks the young girl behind the counter the same question, to which the reply is, “Oh you look about twenty-nine.”
“I am actually forty-nine.” By now he’s feeling fantastic.

While standing at the bus stop, he asks a really old woman the same question. She replies, “I am ninety years old and my eyesight is going. But when I was young there was a sure way of telling a man’s age. If I put my hand down your pants and play with your balls for ten minutes, I will be able to tell your exact age.”

As there is no one around, the man lets her slip her hand down his pants.
The old lady rummages around for ten minutes and says: “Okay, it’s done. You are forty-nine.” The man is stunned. “That was brilliant! How did you do that?”
The old lady replies, “I was standing behind you in Starbucks.”

bro told me a joke today that i found funny

bloke gets asked to drive 3 monkeys to there new zoo, so he packs the car and leaves. but after a couple of hours on the motorway the van breaks down, so he calls the AA "yea well be there in the next hour". but as the blokes in a hurry he asks a passing car if he can take these 3 monkeys to the zoo and gives him £150 as well, the passer agrees and drive off with the 3 monkeys. hour later the bloke still waiting but the passing driver he gave the monkeys to returns with the 3 monkeys, the blokes looks confused and asks "i thought i gave you £150 to take them to the zoo" "i did theres £30 left over so i thought id go and take them to the cinema"
