The latter, I suspect.

This is insanely cool, why would you NOT want one????

My dad rekons it needs an optional brush attachment so you could use it to clean the bottom of their boat.

Not read any of this so sorry for butting in a changing convo.

Just a quick question. Can I take a car to an MOT without Tax? MOT station will be 2 hours away.
Cheers.

Max.

I believe you're meant to take it to the closest, and if ANPR get you, then you're pretty much going down, but You'll probably get away with it. Taking it to Harrys?

You have to book it in under its reg number at the MOT place for it to be legal. You don't need tax or MOT, you MUST have insurance.

As Russel said it is rather dubious whether you can take it 2 hours away. The other consideration is that if you were to have an accident the insurance could try to wriggle by claiming the car wasn't road worthy.

Found on http://passionford.com , but cannot vouch for its veracity.

Wonder if the 'get out clause' is connected with whether or not you'd need a 'comfort stop', which would breach this clause; 'no detours or stops for any reason?

Best to carry a can, then...

Thank you for your email.

I can inform you that there are no restrictions to the distance or type of roads that can be used, when driving an unlicensed vehicle to a pre-booked MOT test.

However, the vehicle must be insured and the journey must be direct, i.e. no detours or stops for any reason.

Regards
