Went out to meet a customer / friend for meal and drove home - 4 deg C and full moon. Cold dense air and f--k it was nice to blast along with no traffic and no speed cameras.... Was going to take the roof off but I think that was going too far................

I drove home from the shops (1/2 a mile tops) with the roof down at the weekend, because the sun was out for the first time this year. It was a mistake for two reasons, firstly, and perhaps most obviously, it was bastard freezing. Secondly, I saw another motorist doing the same thing later on and they looked a right plum, driving along trussed up like Captain Oates.

Had a couple of drinks at lunch and wrote a poem about it.

I hate my little 2cv, it's a total heap of shit.
As fast as I can mend it, it falls back into bits.
It's shoddy looking chassis, with all it's many cracks,
A hallmark of its origin, not far from Halifax.
Its 123 ignition ensures it always pinks,
And now the heads are loose, the fucking heater sticks.
Every year it's mot causes much distain,
As once again it's rotten floors have made it fail again.
And now the bastard thing won't start,
I'm stranded outside asda.
I think I'll leave it where it broke,
And go and buy a Mazda.

Pushed mine around the yard at my parents house for a bit. Got very warm, so something positive came of it. Try as I might, the fecker won't start. To be fair to it, it has been standing outside in the cold and damp for a couple of months at least, so I only really have myself to blame for neglecting it.

Ended up putting it in a shed, where it can dry out a bit. I'll try to get it going again at the weekend. Poor old snail car. I love it dearly, but I have a proper car for day-to-day stuff and an Escort van for dirty workhorse duties, so its becoming a bit of a luxury. Maybe its for the best: store it and work on it in the winter and have fun in it in the summer.

Ignored mine, as they are the last few months..

Ami needs a push into the garage to get the original engine back in, with a new clutch after de holiday breakdown on spain... Need to make room in the garage though
pick up is still where I put is januari 2013.. on the driveway.. This needs a new chassis and some welding to the body, but first the ami..
