I'd never have one. Too chicken also. I'm the same with piercings. But... each to their own and all that.

The owl looks cool, how's it going to be coloured?

If I did want one I'd only go with an artist that was massively expensive and had some kind of waiting list. A friend of mine did this (although I think she called in a favour to queue jump), the tattoos he does are so delicate, almost like a pencil drawing or etchings. Cost her hundreds mind.

The biggest trouble that seems to happen with Tattoos is that people seem to get addicted to them! Sometimes that can work out but other times things can get a bit "over-worked!"

They also smudge with age Louise so all those delicate pencilly lines will merge into a bloody great birthmark. Look at the forearms of old men, they usually have a blotch that looks like a bloody rhorsach test.

Addictive true.. expensive irrelevant ,you could get a rubbish artist who charges too much just as you can get a great one who's quite cheap..
You just have to ask around ,look around ,and look at their work books.
And never be drunk at the seaside and find the tattoo parlour :D

Nothing a few tasteful piercings wouldn't put right. If she had her nipples done she'd have somewhere to clip her stockings to.

I want to be the security guy on the golf cart!

I guess what pushed my buttons is that I once had a tattoo done that I drew myself there and then on the spot, and then demanded it was done. I've hated it ever since, and I partly blame the tattooist for not asking me to come back tomorrow. A well drawn and executed one is a different thing entirely.

Anyway, like the guy said it's his arm, I just wish I hadn't had mine done.

Pics O-N or it didn't happen  . Always share your misfortune/bad decisions with others, if they get a giggle then some good has come of it!

I knew a rather colourful guy. He spent 11 years in prison. His first tattoo was an enormous prison eagle tattoo on his chest. Later (outside) he had skull plates tattooed on his head which were only visible if he shaved his head. You could tell his state of mind by whether he had hair or not. Eventually he became an excellent tattoo artist himself. Some of his tattoos were amazing, among the best I've ever seen. I became good friends with him. The first time I met him he tried to intimidate me and I stayed calm and refused to back down.

By this time he'd gone straight, but he still had a fearsome reputation and he was a genuinely hard man. He also had standards. For some reason he decided I was OK. If you were "OK" he'd always tell you the truth.

I asked him to do me a tattoo. He agreed and asked if I wanted him to advise me on the best on the best design and position? I told him that was why I'd asked him in the first place.

Then don't do it was his response.

I respected the guy and I'd asked for his advice; so I took it. I still think it was good advice.
