No turbo is different thing all together. On about ignition points verses electronic. I have started my car (when not turbo charged) by crank handle with 123 - no problem. Ignition does not know what is spinning it - starter motor or hand crank.

Re: Which (if any) electronic ignition
Thanks to you all!! Ayjays point of a Harley coil may be worth a look into, I think I'll stick with points for the mo, being as I am only collecting the car on Sunday, there may be more pressing issues thank upgrading, I have posted a wanted in the flea market section, if one materialises here I may buy and sit on it for a while. I guess fuss has a point with a) if it ain't broke.. And b) Citroen designed a simple reliable proven little car and it has worked to date very well, ok so the die hard would not embrace such an upgrade.
Thanks again for all your opinions and the friends in holland.
Bit of a weird thing but 2cvs have a certain smell.. When I opened the door a waft of well 2cv omitted, I am not sure what it is but the smell for me sparks off nostalgia. My last grey/grey has the same must as did the D*lly I had not sure if its the seats, roof, engine smell from the heat exchangers (oilfield fumes and petrol)??
Thanks for all your opinions as soon as I get it back ill post some pics

Re: Which (if any) electronic ignition
I'm not dismissing the points system - when set up, and kept, correctly it works admirably well, the lost spark way provides a very simple route to an uncomplicated ignition system. However, to dismiss all electronic ignitions is bordering on being Luddite - things move on because of both technological advancements and governmental legislation on emissions etc which a good old fashioned points based ignition cannot begin to comply with....both the fully electronic systems of 123 and Lumenition work well on A series and for the less mechanically minded, those with little access to a local specialist, provide an acceptable hands off approach to ignition.
