 Re: More Insurance Quesions...
Try ringing people up rather than internet claims, and stay away from comparison websites. The most i have ever paid is about 600 as a named driver when i first passed. in my 4th year of driving, (but with 0 no claims as i this will be the first year i have my own policy) its about 450 a year fully comp with agreed value. im hoping it will go down when i renew my policy at the end of the month. But deals are out there, some people are lucky with prices, some people are just itching to drive! have you looked at putting a limit on the number of miles? that took 2-300 quid off some quotes for me.

 Re: More Insurance Quesions...
Just phoned up Lancaster to see about renewing my car insurance. Doubled to £600 and thats without breakdown and agreed value that I had for just over £300 last year. That 600 is now with 5 years on my licence, would have been 700 otherwise. FWIW tried Peter James and Footman James and they said I was too young at 23/ car is not garaged Any ideas?

 Re: More Insurance Quesions...
Not sure what to suggest really, but Kim and myself are both 22 and have both got A-series insured with Footman James, both parked on the road in Coventry, with unlimited mileage.
How old is your car? We tried to insure an AX with them but they said, due to our ages, they could only insure us on one type of classic policy, and that was only suitable for cars over a certain age. I can't remember for sure but I think they said as a general rule the cutoff date was *around* 1990, so I suppose if your car is F or G reg you might fall foul of that. I'm afraid I can't remember who our underwriters are offhand.
When I tried Peter James, I got the same story as you had. Just hope FJ will still be able to insure us when our renewals come around!

I don't know how they apply it (or if it is even in effect), but the new legislation that prevents women from having cheaper insurance premiums due to their gender might be responsible?

 Re: More Insurance Quesions...
May well be worth giving them both another call. PJ couldn't help me (can't remember why, but I have to have business use for work which probably did it!), but I do quite often find the FJ will give different answers depending who picks the phone up at the other end!
