Also used in Blighty, to describe something in very good condition.

Most fascinating, thanks :lol: (One of my most favourite books, is Bill Bryson's Mother Tongue, about the evolution of the English language :oops: :lol: )

Yep! The man is a genius and I can forgive him being American, coz he lives in Blighty (Wymondham, Norfolk). 8-)

He is definately english inside! He needs to release a new book though, thats for sure.

now, i have a copy of the Aphrodite's Child 1970 prog-rock classic 666 - double concept album....on the inside gatefold, there's a very, very similar picture of an unfortunate 2CV crashing through a wall....almost certainly by the same artist

yeah, must be - although look at the position of the N/S headlamp.....

i'll look on the sleeve tonight see if there's an artist credit...
