Tax about to run out, chassis broken, engine overdue its return, everything is broken, I've got another car and the moped so I just don't see any point in driving it any more until its sorted out.

Yeah, that ain't going to happen. Unless my boss invests in a clean, dry, draught proof and heated workshop, it can wait until the summer...

Started it - for the first time since returning from the October Wye Knots meeting - six weeks ago!
I knew that it wouldn't be easy having stood for so long and that this would probably need some direct action (ie: bypass the pump and go straight for the carb) Not having any fuel in my spare can, I went for Plan B - best achieved, I thought, by sucking some fuel from the tank and then spitting it into the carb - which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

- success!

I may nip out in him later...

So I've not been on here in a VERY long time, it's good to see that the old faces are about, and lots of new ones too!

My car failed it's MOT in April '12 on some welding, and I was off for a few months after that so didn't see the point in fixing, taxing and insuring it. Welding was done a couple of months ago, and I started it for the first time in about a year last night without much effort.

Off to my mechanic next week for a service and *hopefully* a fresh ticket. Probably the wrong time of year to get this on the road, but if I didn't do something with it soon, I would probably sell it.

Used the 2CV to drive the sixty miles down to Lerwick today. Weather was good enough to persuade me to fully open the hood on the drive home, but after the thirty mile drive from Lerwick to Toft Ferry Terminal it got very chilly so I closed it again. Just as well, as the weather deteriorated whilst heading through Yell and I travelled through a seriously heavy hail and snow storm. It's not looking good on Thursday and Friday, we're expecting heavy snow right through both days.
