Re: What did you do with your A Series today? I drove back from the Charente region of SW France via the tunnel and back to Tamworth 670 miles.Cruising at 60mph never missed a beat. This I have to admit was on Friday but my net connection has been down.

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? I collected car the other day and the headlights failed, so I need to re wire them. Still yet to use my 2cv properly  So tonight I'll try to rewire the headlights tonight if I get a chance. I've pulled the front loom out to have a look Haven't used te car properly in months

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? Finished putting it back together, wired in the new fuse box for the ciggie lighter socket and the radio. Took it for a test drive. The 123 ignition and new coil appear to have cured the hot starting problem. I wish I'd had more time to clean and repaint the panels while they were off, but I want it back on the road so it can be used.

Recent advice suggested it was probably the coil getting too hot and then recovering after it cooled down a bit.

i have dg-nition too That's what I got. The coil on its own would probably have cured the hot start problem but I wanted the maintenance free ignition as well. Now I've got the old coil and points set up to carry in the tool box as emergency spares.
