2CViking wrote: I avoid Citroën car clubs like the plaque. The clubs that I was a member of did not do anything other than getting my membership money and shipped the magazine. In both cases I met the ``inner circle´´ and always felt that it was hard to be accepted. That's a shame Peter and does reflect badly on those people. My own experience with 2CVGB is the opposite [with a few exceptions] which is why I am such a passionate member. 2CViking wrote: To my surprise others, even long term members felt the same way but they enjoyed the social side of it and the camaraderie as long as nobody challenged the peace. All the political nonsense I could do without. It is to me nothing more than a monster I wasted time and money on but I do respect what the club was doing for the common good, like parts for members, raids and other meeting and so on. Today I feel no need to be part of any club. My movements are through forums and the friendships coming from these forums. The political nonsense as you put it exists in all walks of life, even on this forum. I have always been of the view that if things ain't right, get amongst it and sort it out. But then I am a balshy bastard who enjoys the cut and thrust. [you might have noticed]

It's possible to attend an informal local classic meet held at a pub. That has several advantages. It's in a pub. It's a mixed event with various marques turning up. It's in a pub. You can get help and advice for free. And it's in a pub. What more could you ask for?

I'm lying in my hammock having a great time with friends. Drunk people? Yeah, you betcha! wohoo! Smelly toilets? oh....I'll give you that..... Shitty food? No way dude! Have you tasted my food? It's great! By the way, I'm not a member of the 2CVGB

Over a week later- no reply To be fair, he's just spent his last few weeks putting the March issue together, which is probably just hitting the printing press. Give him a break/chance! (And it should be noted that he's only still doing it because no one else has come forward the last 2 years when he's wanted to step down).
