Opened the boot, removed the floor and changed the brake pads...

Removed rear seat and filled with garden rubbish and old wooden shelf unit which had been quietly rotting outside for years and took the whole lot to the tip. Roof rolled right back both ways, lovely.

Just returned from South of France and Northern Spain - 1700kms total and not a problem. For those going to Spain for 2cv meeting - try and avoid the N10 below Bordeaux to the Spainish boarder as a nightmare as road works and changing to toll road. There were 1 km tail backs at the 2 toll booths and the pre paid queue was the same as not working correctly. Also if you want a good stop over or just a break - visit San Sebastian old city.

We went to a Bourse d'Exchange today in Tarbes (about 50 km from us). It was pretty good with a big hall full of sellers and outdoors with more stalls. Loads of 2CV parts and plenty of vehicles on show.

We picked up another Solex 2200 which is in pretty good shape. Some were asking silly money then you get others who are more down to earth. I bought the workshop manual for my 4L for €20 where on another stall they wanted €55.

Good day out though and it has made our minds up on our next car - a 4CV :D :D

Renewed the fuel pipe on the red spesh. I thought it had done pretty well considering it was the original! But then I realised it's only managed 700 miles since returning from the Kelso WM.

Drove to A friend on sunday, got the solexes out, did a tour, got back, ate some tapas, back to friendsplace, tossed solexes back in Ami en drove home..
At 23:30 at home, took solexes out...
It was a good day, no issues (nor ami or solex...)

Went to her after leaving her standing for 3 months,a few turns with the starting handle and after a couple of spins on the key away she went. Now just need to get ready for the lapsed MOT :-)

Put the summertyres/toyo's back on the car.. Winter seems over at last, so no need for wintertyres

Was up and out in the 2CV at 4:30am this morning. I'm now onboard Northlink Ferries MV Hrossey heading for Shetland. The journey up was absolutely terrifying at times, especially on the motorways and exposed fast routes, the wind has been truly awful!! I've never known a trip in a 2CV to be so hair raising.
