I agree with Russ! This is a A-type forum, so A-type must be the mail subject. In many topics, there are always some off topics moments. That depends on the subject and the reactions posted. There is nothing wrong with that.
New, non A-type topics, therefore should be posted in the off topic thread. Or, when started as a new topic, being merged by the bosses with the O/T thread.
This topic has no rules on subjects, you can post what you want, as long as it is off topic ;)

I asked the original question out of respect and courtesy to the mods and other forum users, as I'm aware that I may come across as having a touch strong a personality for some. My reasoning was that I don't want to inflict that on fellow members here, but elsewhere in my own space they had a choice not to visit.

I also understand the investment in time and energy that the mods have to put into running a forum, and given that, then as far as I'm concerned what they say goes simple as that.

Ironically, the post I had in mind which raised this whole question was to do with that very topic. Let me introduce you to Geoff Thompson, perhaps you won't know of him, but I do. ;) In a way he was my mentor, and the guy that made me decide to sit the philosophy degree.

To put what I said another way:

Carry on as you are.

I quite fancy a bit of this. Maybe at Salbris next year. I think riding a moped about using a loudhailer to give people my opinions on things would be a really good idea.
