Brilliant story, O-N!
Without wishing to sound greedy: More! More! When can we have the Newman/McQueen one?

I'll get to the Newman and McQueen story next if any of you are still awake. Just having a minor domestic in the meantime, back soon. ;)

Having followed your rebuild, on here, your blog site and 2cvgb I know it will be worth the wait, and entertaining. :) certainly more interesting than the Infection Control stuff I should be working on.

Ok, well it seems that despite it being Friday night and no work tomorrow for many, most of the lightweights have gone to their beds  So it's just me and you Paul, welcome to the forum by the way.

So, the JD bottles empty and it's my time for bed too. Have a good shift Paul, and I hope that you might feel free to contribute more posts on here now that you have broke your duck. ;)

Thanks for another great story, and the welcome to the forum, have been here in the shadows reading and watching for a while , but its not often I actually Log in or comment, and its good that this is one of the few sites the work server doesnt block and allows me access to, so keeping the the 12hr night shift more bearable, with this site to browse and Absolute classic rock playing in the background, only interupted by the requirement to do some work, home time soon comes around :D

Wonderful, Old Nail, wonderful.

You do realise that you have - oooh - at least 10 pre-sales for your new book when it arrives... :)

Post Re: The O/T thread!
I have to be careful about that, seriously.

There are things that I'm wrestling with at the moment, do I put this in or should I leave that out? etc. The anecdotes concerning characters that are now dead don't really present a problem, nor do things like the Ian Brown story as he knows damn well what happened and would probably even smile about it now.

The trickiest part is in where to draw the line? For example some of the things that have happened, and I'm not talking one incident here but many such incidents from childhood on up, are perhaps too harrowing to put into fine detail, so do I leave them out and thus weaken the book?

Other stories may be hilarious, but they often include characters who were involved in illegal activities at the time, and if those characters are still doing now what they were doing then well I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate my indiscretion, which could well result in my getting a visit from the amateur baseball team, you know, the men with rugby players noses and balaclava's.

At the moment I'm just pushing things around on paper, making those type of tricky decisions, but what I can promise you is that regardless of how much I leave out there will still be enough to fill a whole book left over, it's been that sort of life, and it ain't over yet. ;)

I keep getting back to this thing whereby I feel that whatever I have experienced it is just typical of so many, so why write about it? I always thought that my life was nothing different to anyone else's, after all everyone has their ups and downs don't they? It just so happens that my 'ups and downs' tend to be dramatically higher and lower than is the norm, and it's only when I mention such things in casual conversation, and folks look at me agog, that I began to realise that, well, maybe my experiences haven't all been so typical after all.

O-N, you can still write about your life involving "others", just don't name names.
