Replaced the vent flap on the other half's 2cv, which took frikkin' ages.

I was conspired against by the tiny bolts that seemed to measure 5.5mm and none of my metric or imperial sockets would work - ended up using my ancient "King Dick" adjustable spanner and fingertips which wasn't great.

Another annoying factor was the fact that the 'bargain' seat rubbers purchased at Salbris keep snapping - about 6 of them snapped whilst I was fidgeting about fitting the new bit.

Now my fingertips hurt.

I also think I may have overtightened the bolts as I'm not sure the flap is sitting right.

Better than the rusty bent one that preceded it though!

You're right, they are 5.5mm. I don't mind doing those nuts unless they're rotten but I hate taking all the pointless trim and heater pipes off first.

Not my car, but to dads celeste I fitted new rings, stem seals and ground in the valves, and *finally* it seems to have completely stopped smoking! :D

New roof tomorrow, then I'm all set for the ICCCR 8-)

i started a fight in Asda carpark(nearly) - couple of blokes parked their fancy BMW Mini next to the 2cv, passenger got out and clouted my door with his then laughed..... so i opened my door against his and drove forward. they started shouting at me in Urdu or something till i got out. it was a stressfull day at work :? (if he hadnt laughed Id have been niggled but would have left it at an extremely hard Paddington Bear stare  )

i feel your pain sean :) the trouble is a 2cv door is very light, you need to really swing it open to do much damage to a bmw,s paintwork
you should have asked for his insurance details rather than retaliate, i wager he didnt even have a british licence

I had someone park next to the 106, I was sat in, he opened the door, banged my car, and shrugged his shoulders. He saw and knew I was in the car.
What is it with this 'bang people's car' state atm

I drove round a roundabout multiple times with the tyres squealing, with a mate from work out of the roof waving and shouting at people.
