There's no such thing. Certainly not for the French market.

You're not being a numpty - it is rather complicated and confusing, and gets harder to understand as time goes on and fewer vans exist in original spec.

Thank you :) i do feel a bit lacking technically! This is just one of those things I'm trying to get my head around, particularly if I'm going to seriously think about getting a van.

Ok I think I'm going off topic so I've put more questions in an 'Engines/gearbox for Dummies thread' :)

Yep, that's another AZU250...

The U or K thing is actually quite simple. If the van has a short body it has a U (AU/AZU/AZU250 etc.), and if it has a long body it has a K (AK350/AKS400/AKL/AKB etc.). This can actually be seen in the way the vans are listed on the site you link to.

Many people incorrectly call AZU250s AKs, but it is just that - incorrect.

Ok you are just as stubborn as I am.
AZU are all born with sedan spring pots etc.
AK 250 all have bigger springs. AK 250 is based on AMI 6 with M 28 motor
Maybe try to tell your claim to the French prefecture (Carte de Grise), maybe they don’t know their own cars.

I thought all "little vans" were "little engine", right through to the end of production.

'ere, where'd the attachment go?
I just went back to check it again, because I was sure it said "AK AK" - which is an AKS400 chassis number. AZU250 were AK AP. Anyway, it definitely didn't say "AK250" on it. AFAIK Jono's absolutely right and they were never actually _named_ AK250 anywhere.

Certainly Cats' site refers to them as AZU all the way through to the end of production.

Yes I uploaded the wrong CT, therefor removed.

One more time.

AZU has small springs (sedan chassis)
AK 250 has big springs (AMI chassis)

AZU has 435 machine
AK 250 602 M4

AZU has round headlights
AK 250 rectangular lights

AZU small speedometer
AK 250 Club speedometer

Tell me why that is. So to you, they are all the same? AZU only?

Post Re: 2cv Vans: Dummies Guide
My 1974 AZU250 has a "club" speedo and came with 435cc engine. The original floors had "humps" for larger spring cans, but the chassis has standard 2cv cans. It also left the factory with square headlights.

I was under the impression that the Ami6/M28 mechanicals were ditched in 1968 when the M28 engine was introduced, hence why you get crossover Ami6's, Dyanes and AK350's which could feature either engines around that time.

I also was under the impression that the vans then followed suit - the new AKS400 adopting the 602cc (M28) mechanicals and the AZU250 ditching the older 425cc engine and receiving the new 435, launched at the same time. (think 2cv6 van and 2cv4 van if you like)

All vans finally adopted the "club" dashboard in around 1974 (the word club being a slight inaccuracy as the 2cv6 was not actually rebadged as Club until 1979 model year).

I've been around a bit and I've never seen an M4 powered 250 in any shape or form.

Post Re: 2cv Vans: Dummies Guide
i've got to say i didn't realise there was infact a model named the AK 250. I thought that people who described them as such were the same people who call 2cvs 'cvs' or AKS 400's AK 400's. The way i understood it was that they were AZU 250's & that from sometime in 1972? they gained the 'GA' (which i believe stands for Grand Administration) as far as i was concerned they were all powered by 435cc engines through till production ended. I've not see nor heard of a M4 powered 250.
