What about the steering wheel?

Sounds like it might be a Club - which is just a slightly 'plusher' Special!

What does it say on the V5C from DVLA? Should give the model on there.

its all a bit irrelevant now as most 2cvs are "bitsas" the only differance was some bits of plastic or a 2 tone paint job, as long as the rust is under controll and the mechanicals do what they are supposed to does it really matter what flavour of 2cv6 it was?

or are we getting all matching numbers anal like the VW boys?

Nobody is getting 'ANAL' as you put it, I am just trying to find out what I have and some of its history.
Anyway back to my car.. while looking for pics of a club I see a pic and thought 'oh that looks like mine'.
well here it is! it was mine being advertised by a previous seller. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C88910#

Its advertised as a club too.

I have some pics so will start my own thread with them on.

 sorry wansnt having a go
it rolled off the production line at a similar time to my last one - same colour too. It has the last of the square lights, disk brakes, a big dash, door caps and little covers over the upper hinges. A dippable rearview mirror and interior light complete the interior luxury.

The shell at this time has a strange strip metal bracket sticking out the lower bulkhead often twisted out of the way and it may have all the holes on the left hand side for the French controlls covered with little diamonds of metal tacked on, with a bit of luck it will have been "Dinitrolled"

Apart from that they are all the same there is nothing special about any of the mechanicals.
There should be a stencilled "Orga" number on the bulkhead if you put it into the online decoder you get the day of manufacture - usually there is date wheels on some of the cast items, both alloy and plastic. and they have the year in the centre and the month round the outside as a seriese of centre punch pops.

That's better :-) great info there. I have since found the car advertised a couple years ago as a club and it turns out the old owner is actually a member here..
I have now started a thread on my car for you too see.

Have you tried Citronet ? http://www.citroenet.org.uk/

Yes tried there and it has confirmed its an 83 2cv6 model but I was hoping to find out if any relevant to the vehicle spec and original color etc

The badge says its a special but What makes a special special..? It also has square headlights and nearly every other 2cv I find pics of has round ones..

Sure in time I will learn all these little details.

http://www.2cvstuff.com/2CV_models_colours.html This might help with colors for your year/model..Mind you can paint your car whatever you want!
