why does anyone need a mobile phone? all i see these days is people permanenty texting (they walk like androids) apparently everyone with a mobile can be pinpointed too their exact position now

Such is the trade off. Walking and texting is one thing but there have been many road accidents cause by this and the use of mobiles whilst driving.

The govt can track me all they want without much cause for concern, however owning a mobile phone allows my other half to ring me when and wherever I am which feels like a much greater encroachment on my liberty.
