Have a gander on fleabay - I picked my little pioneer tube up for £80 and I think Timmy got his sub even cheaper than that. I've just had a trawl for tri-mode stuff too - seems that nobody does an actual unit any more, these days you have to work out what bits you need and go down Maplins! Too complicated!

Aidan - next time I'm somewhere with Evie (Registers probably unless I'm up Derby/Notts/Sheff before then) have a listen to her as she's got a pretty similar set-up to what you are looking for. Four speakers (5 inch in front doors, 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf) and an active sub under the rear seat to fill in the lows nicely. Only difference being that all the full-range speakers are driven off the head unit amp. It does the job.

lol... all this puts lily's sound system to shame i've got 2 6x9s in speaker boxes in the boot, and 2 7"s from a mk3 vw golf under the front seats, and i thought that was pretty loud the back speakers are jvc's and pretty good, but the fronts are mainly low/mid frequency speakers cos the golf has tweeters too but i cba with them they do alright and fine for what i want front seats vibrate alot though... then again so does the rest of the car

Cheers Will, Halfords are knocking this little Ripspeed unit out for under £40. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65748#dtabWhat d'ya think. Worth a punt? Cheapest I can find the kenwood/alpine/blaupunkt equivalents is £120-£140 which is no go at the mo.

you pay for what you get... looks nasty!
save your pennies and keep an eye on ebay, i will too!
2 options, go active sub or make your own kit and screw amp to the box after...

You dont want non of that ripspeed. Youll be taking it back in a week.
When i worked at halfrauds they always came back. Stupid faults, you can pick up a much better headunit for that kinda money.

Boys, This came up on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KENWOOD-KSC-SW10- ... 7C294%3A50So I ordered one. Seems like a good price - just have to twist the reality if questioned by the gov'nor. And not go out for a while.
