Welcome - lovely car and looks in good condition and I agree with Dave, the white looks great (as long as it isn't covered in dirt) ;)

Looking at the weather in your photos it definately looks like the roof will get a lot of use!

Anyone able to snap a shot of how the straps that secure the roof when it is all the way back look/attach inside the car?

Here you go. These photos are of the left-hand side of the car. The rear press-stud (ie the one on the left in this pic) is above the rear quarter-window.

To secure the rolled-back roof with the strap, simply pop the front part of the strap off its stud, like this...

... and then pivot the strap around and loop it through the cross-bar of the roof (the one in your hand in this pic): Image
Finally, press the available end of the strap onto the press-stud on the outside of the vehicle (that's the one just behind the rolled-up roof in your pic).

Voila!

The press-studs are secured to the car body with self-tapping screws.

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone. We should receive the straps and a couple other new parts for the roof by Friday. I'll let you know how the installation goes this weekend.

Hi Dago,

Thanks for the tip regarding the 2CV Road Service Booklet. I ordered it right away. Can't wait to check it out.

Ok guys! Got the straps on. Not the same way as you have shown but they work. Actually, we fixed the press studs on the outside of the car and the roof rolls over then. The only inconvenience I see of this is that we have to take the straps completely off when we are not using them. I dont think it affects the roof as it seems to have a good seal when we close it up.

We are really enjoying having the top back in this weather this week in Burgundy! 25c with sun!!!
