Ken im intrigued by re jetting to give less throttle same speed action, as i have wanted to change, as mine is pretty crap low to mid range gear two... as Fieldmouse will recall

Any suggestion as what jet size to aim for?

i know ive asked that before, but dont recall a definate answer...

Wait until you start driving proper cars. I've managed 4mpg in the past. 2cvs are cheap to run.

Rule 1 you get nothing for nothing where energy is concerned
if my science classes can be recalled, even half decently, i predict an overall loss

you would be better off disabling the voltage regulator - collecting the gas from the boiling battery and feeding that into the air intake because that's all you are doing.

energy is being used to split that strong HO bond to re form it again. even if it were 99% efficient, which it isn't, you would have a net energy loss - the electrical energy comes via the hoplessly inneficient internal combustion engine which by best estimates is 18%-20% efficient ie it wastes 80% of its available energy, most of that usefull energy is required to propel the vehicle forward

any potential gain of injecting extra oxygen and Hydrogen into the inlet will be negated by the extra load on the alternator.

Rule 2 if its too good to be true......

James,
bottom of page 118, then page 119 for the theory? ;)

Alternatively, purchase a 107.5 primary petrol jet from ECAS, install and drive.

Don't bin your old 102.5 jet, as most of mine were 'borrowed' at race events, then drilled out to some unknown diameter or never returned.

Started using 'Fuelly' to track my mpg, got a link to my site at the bottom of my post. Current average is 41.9mpg.

41.9?

do you only drive down hill with the wind behind

Mate, some people swear they get 50+mpg from a 2CV. Quite simply, that is bollocks. If I hoof it down the motorway full pelt I gets 37mpg. 'Best tankful' has been 45mpg and that's driving like a granny :x (except constantly slipping the clutch and high rev'ing everywhere  ).

I've had over 50mpg outa my "A" series cars on frequent occassions [and I dont drive like a "Granny"] ......however :? ....35-40 seems to be my average these days.
But maybe the petrol aint what it used to be :!:
Discuss ;) .....

If I wanted "miles per gallon" .....I'd drive my Cit C4 .....but I prefer "smiles per gallon",so I'll stay with my 2CV ..... ;)

best regards
T. ;)

I have the kit,so as I said,I will fit it after I come back from France.
Also,I was not moaning about my mpg,I really couldnt care if my car was doing 20mpg,I just love driving it.
What I was saying,is that super unleaded had cured my flat spot, which I thought It might, and that I would have thought my mpg would be better, not worse.

yes, well he wasn't breaking the 2nd law of thermodynamics. I freely admit I'm only a professional chemist, not a mad scientist but these gadgets are just a good way of separating the gullible from their money.

On the mpg front the average is about 43mpg on standard unleaded - and I drive the 2cv quickly. It has lumenition and the yellow coil set-up. Best ever was 55mpg on 4* when running in a new engine, but a recent high was 51.7 on super-unleaded at the world meeting last year when trying to find a petrol station :?
