Wise words, they are after all 44 times heavy then you and after one has squashed your 2CV without noticing the sqelshing noise and driven off you are going to look really cool then.

Big lorries deserve respect.

Looking at the size of some lorry drivers, without their truck, they weigh more than a 2cv :lol:

I drove an artic recently (off the public highway, but still up to 56mph!) and it was VERY illuminating. I always give trucks plenty of room, but hadn't appreciated just how poor the overall visibility is, even with more mirrors than Jordan's bathroom.

To answer the original question, any 602 a series should pull 75mph, there's no reason it won't do it all day long on a motorway. I've done Paris and back in a day, Czech in about 16 hours (with a 300km detour via France) and Kelso, all flat out at motorway speed, no worries. Make sure the car has oil and doesn't pink.

I don't understand some of you chaps worrying about cars overtaking you, it's your sworn duty as a 2cv driver to make sure you're not overtaken

Mine goes well off the clock in the right conditions if i let it :| wether the speedos are that accurate i dont know :?:
Even if much over 60 makes me think about maybe holding the doors in with a bungee hooked between them :shock:

I don't understand this 75-80mph thing. When new, a late 2cv had a max of 71.5mph, and that's what my car does(unless going down hill-75/78mph, or up hill-55/65mph). I did once see 83.6mph as a sat-nav indicated max, going down a hill on the M5 by Michealwood Services. It was bloody scary!! :lol:

How fast? Mine will sit comfortably at 60 on a motorway all day, 70 if it's warm or I'm in the mood to put up with it, 50-55 if it's raining heavily. But it will travel vast distances without complaining.

As others have said, just be careful about overtaking in a left-hooker.
