The cheapest ones I could find were Nankang 135s and they seem to do the job perfectly well.

Round, black, have tread. Some people aren't picky about anything more.

I bought four Nankangs and they made a huge - positive - difference to the ride and handling. Admittedly they replaced a motley assortment of clapped out Michelins, Firestones and another make that I can't recall, but even so.

Michelin X 125x15 for me. Three were brand new 'old stock' and the other was part won. All tyres carefully examined inside and out, four or five others slung out. I like Xs because they were made for the car and look damned right with their high profile. I know a lot has been said about rubber deterioration and better grip with alternative modern makes but I drive the car within it's limitations anyway. Shouldn't we all?

I also think the Michelin X 125 looks perfect on a 2cv, shame the modern ones don't last long(they should, given they now cost over £100 each). I use Michelin ZX 135s, same price as X 125s, but last much longer.

I would rather have no tyres and run on the rims than use shit like mabor or toyo tyres. False economy. During the 24hr race yesterday we actually had to change a toyo after it had worn to nothing. That took 22 hours. Last year we used the same michelins we'd used the previous 24hr and all year.
