Sam, or one of these... < http://capecodbritishcarclub.org/CarPho ... 4aedit.jpg > I had a lot of fun leaving MGBs in the dust with mine, even if there had to be a couple of bags of sand in the boot to get some grip on the back end. ken samfieldhouse wrote: I quite like the Burtons, they look fairly classy. The Falcons are ok, but tbh if I was gonna have something that looked like that, why not have an actual Lotus 7 or caterham

 Re: Kit cars
Well I'm going to side with Harry, I like kit cars, obviously I like 2cvs, so it kind of follows that I'll like 2cv kit cars. Having said that, there are plenty of unattractive ones about and a few that are absolutely hideous. NO. DON'T DO IT. I SAID STOP! SERIOUSLY, THAT'S ENOUGH!So are there any good ones? I quite like the burton, the falcon looks ok, but only because it looks vaguely like a lotus and if you want something that looks like a lotus, get a bl**dy lotus. And I guess the blackjacks are alright looking. But honestly, none of them float my boat, the best citroen special I can think of is the 'Tryane' which is a one off rather than a kit so doesn't count.

 Re: Kit cars
pembleton just looks like a posh version of the 223 for me! the only A-series Kit car i like is the Blackjack Avion passed one of them on the way home one day after picking up my bro from work! he really liked it! it wasn't untill i told him it used to be a 2cv and he soon lost interest!

I hate 2cv kit cars! Right, that's you off my Xmas card list straight away! Neil wrote: hideous things! Just my opinion. And you Little Louis wrote: I hate 2cv kit cars. You're on a sticky wicket as well sunshine samfieldhouse wrote: I quite like the Burtons, they look fairly classy. That's like saying "Why not buy an original AC/Shelby Cobra or a GT40" Russell wrote: Is berties bed actually a kit car? I thought they building them from a factory? Well yeh, everything apart from the chassis & running gear is non standard. As far as I know, they weren't available as self-build but as it wasn't on the Citroen sales list (like FAF, Dalat, Pony etc) it's definately ModCon as far as 2CVGB are concerned. ken wrote: and you lot don't even have to work on 'em... Tbh, what winds me up most when working on certain kit cars is the random sizes of bolt heads and threads which seem to find their way into the mix. With most 'A' series cars, you'd know which spanner to pick up for which job, but with certain kit cars, ( Bertie's Bedouin excluded ;) ) it's all a bit of a lottery. ken. That's why I was always a bit worried about you seeing Belinda for the first time Ken The trouble with non-standard (kit) cars is that as soon as you leave the "standard" (engine/running gear) and progress to "alternative" (everything else) there's no right or wrong way. On the one hand, the most frustrating aspect of owning a Bedouin is that there's virtually nobody to ask for advice. On the other hand, there's nobody to say "ooh, you've done that wrong". Whilst we're on the subject of kit cars, does anybody here feel that building one is denying standard cars of valuable parts? I only ask because I also have a Morgan-esque kit car based on a Morris Marina. Before you laugh, it's similar (if not identical) to Triumph/MGB running gear and we are frowned upon by the classic car community because they regard it as "denying real cars the few parts that are available" which is rubbish because mechanical parts are inevitably easier to find than bodywork/trim!! Anyway, I don't want you to think I'm ranting, 'cos I'm not. Since the day I got the Shedouin, I was made welcome in the A series community and despite what some of you may indicate (yes you uncle Geoff!!) the Bedouin attracts interest BTW - Russ, Neil & Max - I'm sure I saw a mention about starting a new section on the site about variants, maybe kits could be a part of it?
