Pock marking withing the combustion chamber?

are they only small? If its just remnants of worse stuff then ignore it and fit.

Thats what i would do it it were a bike 2 stroke.

The mating surfaces has been skimmed, no need to take more out the combustion chamber and negate any of the extra compression you may have gained :D

 Now I'm a bit nervious/excited about what this is going to run like, or whether it will run at all. I will probably have to get another engine rebuilt and kept handy just in case this goes badly.

As soon as it on, and working the BX is ready for pickup lol.

I might hold you to that. I'm looking at solving the riddle of the hoses at the moment. Got some replacements to source first.

Spoke to the specialist and he has confirmed it was 12 Thou of an inch that's been skimmed.

Phew!

Then he told me how bad the waterpump was and how he'd rebuilt it and then proceeded to tell me what a bloody pillock I was for forgetting which way round the heater return and header tank pipes connect up. I like this man, he's a proper engineer. Not one of these fitters you get these days.
