   |   Valuation from I2F MembersI read so often on here the variation in the views people have on the valuation of vehicles, so wondered if any or all of you would put a price on this vehicle which I will be selling in May.
1971 AKS400, a local vehicle which I bought last July for 900 euros.

Since that time I have bought the following list of brand new parts for it

 2 new front wings
 Lower windscreen panel
 Bulkhead
 2 floors
 2 sills
 Lower rear panel
 Spare wheel cover
 Fuel tank cover
 2 rear doors
 Front bumper
 Seat belts

As you can see from the above there has been a few hours of welding done and the whole lot goes off for respray tomorrow. [the paint I have to supply cost 150 euros]

The chassis is fantastic and like new. Have rebuilt the top half of the engine [new rings and full gasket set] also a new clutch.

Still to buy, new seat cover, rubbers etc for bench front seat, windscreen rubber, 4 new tyres.

So what's it worth? By the way I have a price in mind. It will be interesting if anyone is close.

   |   Re: Valuation from I2F Members4500-5000 euro perhaps. A quick check reveals that there have been a few of (seemingly) this standard at around this price in recent French 2cv mags/on Leboncoin. However, there are also some that have been advertised for considerably more, and going off them I could actually say anywhere between 4 and 10k euro!

When we were looking at vans 18 months ago, there seemed to be a breakpoint for Acads at about €2k. Below that, ratty rubbish. Above that, tarted ratty rubbish. 400s, the breakpoint was similar, but higher - about €3k. Really nice vans, ones that were actually tempting, were considerably steeper._________________

   |   Re: Valuation from I2F MembersA friend of mine in Limousin has one that sounds similar to that description, with perhaps a little more done to it. He did the respray himself though so the final profit is better. He was offered 7k Euro. _________________

   |   Re: Valuation from I2F MembersAs I have a van myself, my own estimate - £4,500 - is based on what it take to get me to sell my own to someone else.
Mind you, I don't like the shape of AKS400 quite as much as the smaller versions.

   |   Re: Valuation from I2F MembersMy initial thought was about 2,500-3000. I sold one about 3,4 years ago for £1500 . It was in need of a paint job and a bit of engine work but had a solid, original chassis and fairly new floors and sills, looking at the thread i probably let it go a bit cheap then.
