Post Paging the pissing-around-with-boats (or trailers) people...
Favour/blag time, if I may be so bold?

Does anybody have four bulldog gimps (crimps, grips, whateverthehell) for 5mm wire rope kicking about? Ones that aren't made of cheese?

I've just bought some in a stack of other bits from a trailer supplier - and the threads on the U-bolt portion have stripped on every one of them. For a handful of pocket change each, I can't be arsed to hassle them, and I don't want any more of theirs anyway... But it's not going to be worth ordering any from anybody else, either.

Ta everso.

Adrian
Best bet is to buy some copper ferrels (spelling always gets me with that word) and find someone with a hydraulic crimping tool. Lot strongwr, safer, and neater.

Thanks for that, but ask Russ or Sam about the trailer... Bulldogs will be overkill on the "neatness" front... <grin>

Anyway, I was going to put two per brake, just as a belt-and-braces for the strength/safety.

It's getting a special treat, as well as a new brake cable (the old one was three foot short, after Russ's interventions on it) - new tyres to replace the 1985 ones... The mudguard supports are being replaced, too - the welds on the pair which didn't fall off when Matt borrowed it, succumbed to a light kick.
