Post Parts Washers
Hi Guys

Just setting up the parts washer we brought to go in the garage as rebuilding the van engine. Does anybody know where i can get some cheap washer fluid for it?

Im needing 12l and it seems really expensive from most places. Was thinking of using parafin instead?

Any ideas?

Try red diesel.I use an old packing case (plastic one) with the lids that lock together when they close and have put 2 x 5 liters of Jizer in it.Works a treat.

Don't waste your money on the water based stuff. I got some from Machine Mart and I might as well have blown my wonga on Tesco Value washing up liquid.

Yeah I've heard the machine mart stuff is rubbish. Jizer is still £20 a tin do same price as parts solution

My personal preference is for heating oil, much cheaper than any of the dedicated solvents, especially if you know someone with a tank of it in the garden. Although I do suggest you ask them first. It's better than petrol which evaporates too quickly and isn't good for you.

Diesel is okay if you're not going to paint the parts afterwards, as it leaves a slight oily film which heating oil doesn't.
