By the sound of things, that conflagration you had wouldn't meet the requirements for environmental disposal. From what I've read, there's a growing problem with GRP boat hulks which are being abandoned by their owners, rather than pay the costs of proper disposal... ken. So yeah, exactly what I meant It's true about the GRP hulks. When boats like my rent's boat were layed down, they had no idea of the structural capabilities, so they just whacked it on.

Would it be possible to make a 2cv shell from fibreglass and sell them off the shelf ? Few problems: - Is it strong enough? - How about the legal rights? - How do you plan on making it? - How on earth do you earth it? - Can you pass a MOT with it? Joolz wrote: It would need to be quite a big shelf. i asked this question before, i know a guy who designs and builds kits and he said that to make it would require quite a few moulds, and getting them all made correctly would be costly, plus you have to think of things like framework to strengthen it, over all he rekoned by the time it was all made it would struggle to cover the cost of making it. shame, id love one!

I guess a 2CV body is ill-suited for fibre-glass, there are after all plenty of Lotuses that show you can make cars out of the stuff. Mind you, you could say Chrysler have done it already.
