 Re: Kit cars
No-one mentioned the manx so far? There was something like the flyer, but with a solid roof, that I quite liked. Don't think it had much to do with a 2cv though, apart from the suspension arms IIRC

 Re: Kit cars
I have one and I like it. Everything taken from our 2cv and aca at the time. Quite a few changes will happen to it mind, all I've done so far is a kingpin and a set of rubber. I must confess it's fading pretty bad and the GRP is cracking from stone chips!

 Re: Kit cars
Heya,
So, as well as the not entirely standard bamboo I also have a Lomax..
I inherited this and love it for what it is and how much fun it is to drive. It is the 224 so the 4 wheeler, is very scruffy but mechanically spot on, it also has a straight through exhaust that sounds amazing (especially 4th to 3rd on the overrun). I love driving it on errands through town in the summer or across the moors, although it is noticeably light and does drift a little if cornering fast or indeed in the wet.
Would I build one....? Well this one must've been built 15+ years ago, I certainly wouldn't rip apart a save-able dyane or 2cv and have contemplated saving a decent dyane bodyshell to stick ontop of the running gear a few times. It means more to me like this though and is a hoot in the summer. Plus girls love it.
I don't mind kits as long as you don't lose a saveable car, my favourite looking one is the 4 wheeler pembleton brooklands, there are several really nicely made ones out there.
fritz
