Post Tracks
I've always been interested in tracked vehicles, Citroen of course did the first Sahara crossing in those half tracks, and the first overland to China as well I think.

A recent web search turned up some interesting stuff; A tracked VW bus.

Image

A tracked Mehari 'chenille' you may have seen before.

Image
Image

A tracked 2cv (which I suspect may be a photoshop job, or a 2cv body on a tank / apc chassis?)

Image

And a blatent photoshop of a Kegresse'd Dyane, fun picture though!!

Then found a company manufacturing these interesting tracks which can be fitted on 'normal' vehicles in place of wheels. They are called MATTRACKS (http://www.mattracks.com/)

Image

Great flotation and low ground pressure, and of course look very cool (well I think so). They make a range of versions from large vehicles weighing several tonnes ...

Down to Lightweight ATV versions, and everything in between.

So you 4x4 2cv guys:

What do you reckon !?!? :)

I remember seeing something like this on ebay 5+ years ago. I remember having dreams about getting it and fitting a paintball gun turret on the top. Fantastic

I love these things, I'm sure I saw the B2 Autochenille at the Le Mans Motor Museum. It was almost as good as the Citroen museum we found tucked away in the Alps. http://www.citromuseum.com/index.php?id ... tation&L=1

What a way to spend a honeymoon - we drove around France in our VW bus and spent our time looking at Citroens (seemingly accidentally). Who would've known that within 4 years I'd be buying one of the damn things?! I do seem to remember at the time how amazing it was that we were looking at the second ever produced H Van. Obviously there's been something wrong with me ever since...

No worries - I'd suggest everyone goes to this! The owners started it from just being entusiasts, and they've even got a very early ripple bonnet with the factory brown parcel paper protection on the door panels!

It also seems to be a pretty well hidden secret - when we went we had the whole place to ourselves! I wonder if many people on here have been?

Once I win the lottery I'm definitely getting my car fully Barbourised, and buying four of these. Would need quite a high lifting jack to change into and out of them though I guess. :D
