From "What's it like living with a 4x4?" topic..:

also weight???? think very much about that evil!

Almost forgot. Yes, I was very concired about weight, mostly because of our regulations. If weight was added too much, it would be loss of a seat, or two. And that was one of the major issue to worry, but I was very released when my Dyane was on scale...

Original weight was 570kg, and today the scale told the weight was 590kg. Really surprising, only needed to remove..:

-spare wheel
-jack
-mass dampers
-door cards
-bumpers
-seat belts
-about 7kg from flywheel
-all drum brakes replaced by disc brakes
-big battery replaced by small one
-choose most light tires I could find

So, some kg's here and there, and the result was only 20kg more than original. Satisfied, really...

Mentioned only because near everything was made to save weight, and they weren't original and they were about 3kg all four cards... Lot of small saving, together enough...

I think it is first time ever I'm waiting snow...

It may start snowing next night, or near christmas. Some years ago we have plenty of snow at beginning of october, but last winter it started about middle of december...

Nigths have been under zero for a while, so winter is quite near...

On the other hand, I don't want to have snow yet, not before I have MOT'd my Sm and drived it to garage, because I haven't winter tires for that. Pretty confusing, want to have snow but don't want...

Not sure do I want to have them on GS rims. Need to try on 2cv rim also. But it is plenty of time to next summer...

Yes, need to move steering arm, make spacers to have rim outer or replace rim inner part. Easy solution is to need steering arm, but it makes steering a lot harder. Spacer between bearing and flange could be better but then wheel offset will be wrong with 2cv rim. And modifying the rim itself isn't something what I want to do...

So, it is possible to have GS rims, if wanted. But I'm not sure do I really want them that much...
