 Gobi project
Hello,
i am Henk from the Netherlands and building a 4x4 2cv. It is a Sahara style but not a copy. Therefore i have chosen another desertname. Gobi is also go as in go and bi as it has a twin engine.
The filosofy is what should happened when Citroen developed the sahara like the normal 2cv. So i use 602 engines etc.
For the moment a gearbox with reverse differential is realised for the rear engine and a kind of gear to shift only the front gearbox or shift the rear and front gearbox.

Hello Henk! That looks good, I would like to create a Sahara 602 but not sure I have the engineering ability. I see the gear lever turret is old 2cv... Is it using the shift rods from a 2cv gearbox? I presume the lever on the right hand side of the box brings the rear shift rods into play? Why do you need all the stop positions on that lever?

 Re: Gobi project
Hello, I have not special machines to make things, so i search in the scrap for things. So is the lever in fact a lever from a lawn mower to lift the wheels to adjust the height.
I used the rods of an old gearbox. My first attempt failed, because the rods were not lined up.

Ah good there is hope for me yet! The Sahara option for 4x4 always looked the most practical way to go if your engineering is 'kitchen table' stuff. Just the gear shift arrangement looked scary, but you are showing the way Keep posting please.
