 Re: What's it like living with a 4x4? and also, because the propshaft rpm is higher+ the 2cv has less power overall the visco coppling needs to have less friction otherwise it is like a 100% lock in a 2cv.. So I guess it needs thinner oil to operate properly in a 2cv 4x4.......

The propshaft in a 2cv is doing about 3 times the rpm of a normal (VW) propshaft; so it really needs to be well balanced otherwise your drive-line will brake in parts when driving at high speed.. The propshaft is perfectly balanced, first part (made from syncro center part) on the machining shop and second part by VW. Just a thought.... Have been thinking that a lot and I will see how it is working when this is "ready", but if the oil is needed to change thinner, it should be very easy task to do. Filling plugs shows well and they aren't some weird plugs, just normal hex plugs... I have planned to use that only at winters, when there is snow on the ground, so the future driving will be mostly at snow and not high speeds. But who knows..?

propshaft speed will be too high
you must dis connect it for fast road use, and less energy consumption
in these odd 20 years of production i reckon that
after 50 Km h 4x4 is not really necessary
typically 4x4 gets you out of trouble or gets you there!
also weight???? think very much about that evil!
