The knobbly tyres would be a better all rounder and legal on roads. Problem is finding them.

I found them thats why I started this topic.... take a look at the first post

But they are motorcross tyres so can they be used on a car??? and would this be road legal??? and will they fit 400mm rims...

I think I will ask 1 for Xmass and test it.......

I saw the first pic an the Voisin pic with tyres. Didn't look to me that the Voison had bike tyres on it...

Can't see it'd be a problem.

In the UK? Yes.
In other countries? <shrug> I'm sure TuV would have a major tantrum, but...?

16" will, but most of them seem to be 90 or 100 wide - too narrow.

These should be fine, though...

I'm not sure what kind of motocross they're thinking of, I suspect that might be mis-labled.

All the motocross tyres I've seen have 'Not for road use' on the side, so not road legal, even in the UK. And anything in 15" or 16" is for kids bikes so definitely not intended to take much weight or be used on the road.

An enduro tyre would have a slightly less extreme tread and be road legal, but they're only made for full size bikes which have 18" or 19" tyres.

Any road legal tyres in 15" or 16" are likely from the back end of cruisers, and have road tread.

What about buying a tyre cutter and recutting a normal 2cv tyres that would otherwise be wholly unsuitable for road use, a toyo or Firestone for example? All you'd need to do is remove alternate tread blocks. Ive recut several normal road tyres for my old SJ and whilst you wouldn't use them on the road they worked as well as expensive block knobblies.
