ON grass you need wider tyres with low profile.

The Vredesteins are good for sand/snow but not for deep mud, again my opinion.....

and I like the mud so I need narrow high tyres (why do tractors have small high tyres you think???)


I am _so_ gonna disagree here...

We started off with the 4x4 on 135 Mich XM+S. OK, they're not quite as "chunky" as the Vredes, but they were utterly _shite_. Changing to the 155 Vredes was about the single most effective difference we made to the car.

Like I say many different types of off-road. Narrow tyres are for when there is hard ground under the mud or when you need high pressure to press the tread into snow. Wide tyres for when the ground is soft and you wish to stay on the surface.

Here's an example of double motocross tyres, it looks like lego technic but is real. Not sure it's ideal on sand, sand racers usually have wide balloon tyres with scoops for tread.

I've used open centre tractor tyres.

Great off road in mud but not allowed on road...

I know them, I think they are (almost to) good in mud but when the terrain gets stonier??? they are to stiff also or not??

p.s. I like those nobs more then this tractor profile....

This is what I'm getting exited from.. but again these are retreated so to stiff for a 2cv....

They are fantastic on mud but will slip on rock but as most of the UK off roading is muddy they have been fine.

The knobbly tyres would be a better all rounder and legal on roads. Problem is finding them.

I found them thats why I started this topic.... take a look at the first post :lol: :lol:

But they are motorcross tyres so can they be used on a car??? and would this be road legal??? and will they fit 400mm rims...

I think I will ask 1 for Xmass and test it....... :lol: :lol: :lol:
