Will it work on an old 400mm rim?????

Or do you have better options for a (narrow) Off Road tyre...

p.s. I like it alot...... 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I've thought about using motocross tyres, you can get them in 15" but whether they will stretch across a2cv rim I don't know.

I'm thinking a long time about using motocross tyres but I can't find any 15 inch.
These are 16 inch which is about the same as an old 400mm rim...

Putting them on is the last problem, I'm thinking about stability cornering becaus a motocycle will never have axial power on its wheels.... cars do, so I don't know if this works...

Some 15" trench cutters here... :)

Or to be precise, they're up in Aberdeen.

Not really, just checked the recommended rim size and as Russell aleady mentioned, there's no way they'd stay put on a standard 2CV rim... :(

I guess if it was solely for off-road use, you could modify 15" space saver rims to make them 3 stud fixing?

I think I'd be more inclined to go for a "squarer" section "Trials Tyre" if I was gonna down that route [by "trials" I mean those little bikes you ride over logs & barrels etc] .....Moto-X tyres are intended to be cornered [and banked over at speed] .....I dunno if Trial tyres are available in 15" size though.

Note the squarer section in the first pic [this is a semi-trials tyre I use on my "off-road" Rotax engined Armstrong MT500] .....
Image
.....compared to the [all round use] tyre on my "road going" MT500 ....

......I might add here that I dont do trials or Moto-x .....just a gentle bit of "Greenlaning" suits me these days.

16" definitely work on 400s - when we were at the ICCCR in Boston a few years back, there was a guy who'd driven a ripple all the way from Arizona - he was using 16" Harley tyres.

I seem to recall one of the 2cv4x4 crowd using redrilled Suzuki rims and tyres, and somebody else using ~195 Suzuki tyres on 2cv rims. Can't remember who, though - LouisT? Subaru Pete? Do you guys remember?

I'm sure I saw some of the French guys with motocross stretched tyres "over" their road tyres. It looked an absolute bloody mess but I assume effective.
